TD Canadian Pathologists’ Assistant Student Advocacy Scholarship

 

The TD bank is the proud and generous donor of the TD Canadian Pathologists’ Assistant Student Advocacy Scholarship in partnership with the Advocacy Committee of the PA Section of the CAP-ACP.

 

Scholarship details:

The amount of $2,500.00 will be awarded to one student per year currently enrolled in their first year of a Canadian Pathologists’ Assistant Masters Degree program. The award recipient will be announced at a PA Section annual event, and the winning essay will be published in the following issue of The Quarterly Slice. The below are requirements that must be met in order to be considered for the award:

1. Proof of enrollment in a Canadian Pathologists’ Assistant Masters Degree Program

Include name of school, projected date of graduation, name and contact information of PA program director.

2. Proof of membership to the PA Section of the CAP-ACP (student membership)

3. 750-1000 word essay to address the following points:

     a) Describe what inspired you to pursue the pathologists’ assistant profession.

         What drew you to pathology, and the position of pathologists’ assistant as a career choice?

     b) Describe your involvement within the PA community.

         How have you actively contributed to the development of the field, whether through academic pursuits, volunteer work, or other initiatives?

     c) What leadership roles, if any, have you undertaken, and/or how do you envision your role in advancing the PA profession?

         Share any experiences where you’ve demonstrated leadership, whether in school, through mentorship, or by participating in professional events, projects, or research. Highlight your aspirations for the field and how you plan to make a lasting impact as you transition from your first year to your second year in the program, and beyond.

4. Letter of recommendation from a pathologists’ assistant who is a PA Section member in good standing with the CAP-ACP

You will be required to provide contact information for your Reference, and they will be contacted separately to submit your letter of recommendation.
